Cookie Policy
Last updated: 24 September 2026
1. What we store on your device
We do not set our own cookies. The website and apps use your browser's local storage, which the law treats the same way as cookies. Everything below is strictly necessary for a service you have asked for, so under the Swedish Electronic Communications Act (and the EU ePrivacy rules) it does not require consent.
| Name | Set by | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
firebaseLocalStorageDb (IndexedDB) |
Firebase Authentication | Keeps you signed in, so the site can offer "Open app" instead of "Sign in" | Until you sign out or clear site data |
wj-* (local storage) |
Wille's Journal | Remembers your settings on this device: accent colour, background, dashboard layout, last community, which messages you have read, dismissed notifications, playback volume | Until you clear site data |
| Service worker cache | Wille's Journal phone app (/m/) |
Lets the phone app start quickly and install to your home screen | Replaced with each update |
The desktop apps store your journal and settings in files on your computer, which do not count as cookies.
2. Third parties you choose to use
Some actions take you to another company's service, which then sets its own cookies under its own policy:
- Google sign-in — when you click "Sign in", Google's sign-in window uses Google's cookies.
- Whop checkout and membership settings — when you subscribe or manage billing.
- GitHub — when you download an app.
Loading our pages also contacts Google's servers for the Firebase code that runs sign-in; this shares your IP address with Google but sets no cookies. See the Privacy Policy for every third party the Service connects to.
3. Controlling it
You can delete stored data at any time in your browser's settings (usually under "Site settings" or "Cookies and site data"). Doing so signs you out and resets your settings on that device; your journal itself is safe in your account.
4. If this changes
If we ever add anything that is not strictly necessary — such as analytics — we will ask for your consent first and update this page.
